No Fault Divorce

No-fault divorce is a cause we at Vardags champion. The current grounds for divorce in England and Wales force parties to attribute blame on their petitions, or wait until two years of separation (or five years without the other party’s consent) have elapsed before their marriage is dissolved. The introduction of no-fault divorce would protect families by ensuring that parting spouses are not forced to denigrate each other, reflecting the reality that, often, no single party is responsible for the breakdown of a marriage.
