Vardags began in 2005 with Ayesha Vardag looking to bring the discipline she developed from a career with a Magic Circle law firm and the Bar to the world of family law.

Ayesha won the 2010 Supreme Court case of Radmacher v Granatino, reversing several centuries of legal tradition and making prenuptial agreements effective in England for the first time. This was a landmark result in British legal history but is just one of the firm’s many successes.

Taking charge of the long-running case of Young v Young just before the final hearing, Vardags obtained a £25 million award against supposedly bankrupt Scot Young, as well as the largest costs order ever made in the family courts.

In Al-Baker v Al-Baker, we obtained the longest ever committal to prison for non-disclosure and the largest ever financial award made following an overseas divorce. Our efforts for former Miss Malaysia, Pauline Chai, saw her win the right to have her case heard in the English courts, paving the way for an anticipated award of several hundred million pounds.
