Vardags embrace challenge of Cycle for Smart Works 2021

This week, from Monday 1^st to Sunday the 8^th, we are participating in the Cycle for Smart Works challenge.

Smart Works is a charity dedicated to tackling long term unemployment among women. It provides both high quality interview clothes and training to unemployed women in need. With referrals from job centres, work programmes, prisons, care homes and homeless shelters, Smart Works supports those from all backgrounds with a remarkable level of success – 65% of those they work with go on to get the job they applied for.

Each year, the charity organises the Cycle for Smart Works initiative in which it challenges teams of five riders to cover a total of 500 miles.

Continuing our long involvement with the charity, Vardags has once again risen to the challenge. With five teams, and a total of 25 riders, Vardags will be cycling a total of 2500 miles over this week – just shy of the 2,600 miles that separate London from the North Pole.

Fundraising has already begun and alongside all the money raised by the Vardags riders, the firm has pledged to match the eventual total raised up to £5,000.
