Expanding the Vardags Equestrian family

Expanding the Vardags Equestrian family

It has been an immensely exciting week for Vardags Equestrian with the introduction of three new equine members.

Last Saturday the De Wolden summer sale was held just outside Leeuwarden in the Netherlands. The exclusive auction sold talented young showjumpers specially selected by Jan Broek. We were lucky enough to purchase a stunning mare for Italy and two fantastic youngsters for our Dubai team.

The youngest edition to the team is the gorgeous Carvalho, the colt has Grand Prix bloodlines and his Dams sire competed in the 2004 Olympic games. We hope he follows in his grandfathers footsteps! Our second addition, Honeypenny, is a 6 year old mare sired by the world famous Bubalu VDL. Bubalus accolades include silver at the London Olympic games and Gold at the world equestrian games in 2014 and, excitingly, he is well known for passing on his talent to his offspring! Honeypenny has shown so much ability in her early training and was a hot commodity at the sale but after immense competition team Vardags proudly brought her home! We have such great hopes for her future, Olympics here we come!

Our final new addition, Belle Etoile de Vardag, joins our Italian team under the talented supervision of Sara Battista. Belle Etoile truly lives up to her name, she is a beautiful mare and has settled into Vardags life extremely well. Already jumping 1.20m at home, Belle Etoile is now looking forward to her first competition where we will see the young talent of Helena take the reins – watch this space! Finally, our lovely youngster over in England, Vivendi de Vardag competed in her third BE 100 with her best result to date! Under the guidance of Flora Harris, Viva did a lovely dressage test and classy double clear leaving the team top 10. Well done to both, the progress we are seeing from this young mare is so promising!
