Louise Walker

Louise trained in London’s West End under Anne-Marie Hutchinson QC OBE, before relocating to Leeds, where she became founding partner of Irwin Mitchell’s family law team. She went on to join top-tier boutique firm Jones Myers, before setting up the family team at Weightmans’ newly established Leeds office. During her time in Yorkshire, she was routinely ranked in Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.

NOTABLE CASES

• MG v AG (appeal out of time) [2020] EWFC 849 — secured a judicial reconsideration of a lump sum order that would have doubled the wife’s award from £3m+ to £6m+, saving the client over £3 million.
• SM v PM [2023] EWHC 3446 (Fam) — secured a retrospective order for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction to India, for a client who had fled serious domestic abuse.
• LIN v PAR [2025] EWFC 401 — successfully defended a husband against a claim brought by his former wife more than 20 years after their divorce, establishing that the claim had been brought at the encouragement of a malevolent third party.

PERSONAL
Louise has recently returned to her childhood passion of horse riding. She loves sport, mainly as a spectator, and is an avid Tottenham Hotspur supporter. She enjoys a challenging jigsaw puzzle to unwind, and describes herself as a devoted "Fanilow," having travelled far and wide to see Barry Manilow in concert.
