Bridget Dowdle

CAREER

Bridget began her career as a Legal Secretary for seven barristers before working as a Legal Assistant in the Corporate Advisory team at Mills Oakley, Brisbane. She joined the firm’s graduate programme in 2022, and it was during her Family Law rotation that she found her passion, taking carriage of her own files from the outset.

She has since specialised in family law, advising on complex children’s matters — including cases involving domestic and family violence, child sexual abuse, and substance misuse — as well as financial matters involving cross-jurisdictional issues, corporate and trust structures, inheritance, and military pensions. Bridget was promoted to Lawyer in November 2022 and remained at Mills Oakley until September 2025, alongside volunteering with the Women’s Legal Service. She has been recognised in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Family Law in both 2025 and 2026.

PERSONAL

Outside of work, Bridget loves anything creative and full of colour, painting and drawing with oil pastels — several of her pieces hang in her home and in her niece’s bedrooms back in Australia. Having grown up dancing and cheerleading, she never misses a chance to dance, whether cooking dinner in her kitchen or out with friends. Raised on ABBA, Neil Diamond and AC/DC courtesy of her parents, she can usually be found dancing to one of the three — or the occasional early 2000s R&B track or Justin Bieber song.
