Vardags makes Halsbury Legal Awards shortlist

In recognition of Vardags’ continuing growth and success, we can proudly announce that the firm has been nominated for yet another award.

Halsbury has completed its streamlining process and has shortlisted Vardags in the Award for Business Development category, which seems very fitting given the firm’s commitment to challenging itself and changing the status quo.

Vardags enjoyed great success at the inaugural Halsbury Legal Awards last year, when Senior Director Catherine Thomas accepted the award for Law Firm of the Year from comedian and broadcaster Hugh Dennis. At the time, Catherine said of the win: “We are a relatively young and niche family law firm, so it was wonderful to be able to prove ourselves in a category where we were set against two much larger London firms. I believe it was a strong testament of our achievements up to this point, and it sets us in good stead for the future.” This has certainly proved itself to be true over the last year, with Vardags continuing to operate at the top of its field while always looking for ways to expand further and press ahead.

In Halsbury’s own words, “these major awards celebrate the values the legal community embodies and which are prized by the profession and wider community.”

This year the members of the illustrious independent judging panel include such luminaries as solicitor-silk Andrew Hopper QC, Nicholas Lavender QC – who is Chairman of the Bar Council for 2014 – and Joshua Rozenberg, one of the country’s most renowned legal journalists, who has worked for the BBC, The Telegraph and The Guardian before becoming a columnist for the Law Society Gazette.

The decision will be made at the awards ceremony on 24^th September, until which time we will keep our fingers crossed.
