Before joining our London team, James qualified at a family law firm in New Zealand, and later worked at a leading, specialist family and divorce firm in Sydney, Australia, advising on high net worth and complex matters prior to joining Vardags. He is a triple-qualified solicitor, qualified to advise and act in New Zealand, Australia and England & Wales.
James specialises in complex financial matters involving family companies and trusts, dissipation of assets, valuation disputes, spousal maintenance, and international elements. He represents a broad client base comprising of high net worth individuals, including individuals or their spouses/partners from commercial, City, banking, investment, media, entertainment and sporting sectors, and entrepreneurs.
James studied Law at the University of Otago.
James is an avid reader and swimmer, and is particularly fond of swimming in the beautiful beaches and rivers in New Zealand. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
