My spouse controls all the money, how can I pay for legal fees?

In many divorce cases, one party controls the finances, leaving the other without funds for legal fees or daily expenses. This often makes the financially disadvantaged party feel they cannot afford top-tier lawyers or feel unable to leave their spouse due to financial dependency.

Fortunately, the legal system has ways to deal with this. On one hand, it aims to provide equality of arms, ensuring the less financially secure party can access comparable legal representation. On the other hand, it can and does require the financially stronger spouse to make ongoing short term financial provision.

This finance can either come from a specialist litigation lender or directly from the spouse (either voluntarily or by court order).

Family lawyers are prohibited by law from providing no win no fee services, neither we nor other firms will provide this. However, in the right circumstances we can take on a case and secure appropriate financing without upfront payment.

We are extremely experienced in dealing with complex cases where these sorts of factors are in play.

When you reach out to Vardags for an initial consultation, our experienced family lawyers will take the time to understand the specifics of your unique situation. They will guide you through the legal process and discuss the next steps to secure funding.

Dont let your lack of control over finances prevent you from reaching out.
