Vardags has had a strong Italian connection from the very beginning. Ayesha, our founder and president, resides in Florence and has deep personal and professional ties across Italy. In early 2026, we expanded our European presence by opening offices in Milan and Florence, extending our expertise and strategic excellence to our Italian clients. Ayesha and her handpicked team of the most exceptional legal minds from the very best universities have handled some of the most important cases of the last decade, including landmark rulings in the Supreme Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.

OUR LEGACY

You may have heard our name from some of the highest profile family law cases against other leading law firms – however, we often act efficiently and discreetly on cases that are kept entirely out of the public eye. 

Some of our influential cases include: 

• Radmacher v Granatino: Ayesha Vardag’s Supreme Court victory made prenuptial agreements enforceable in England for the first time, overturning centuries of legal tradition. 

• Young v Young: We secured a €28.5 million award, and the largest costs order ever made in the family courts. 

• Al-Baker v Al-Baker: We achieved the longest ever committal to prison for non-disclosure and the largest financial award following an overseas divorce. 

• Pauline Chai v Khoo Kay Peng: We won jurisdiction in England for the former Miss Malaysia, paving the way for an anticipated award of several hundred million pounds. 

• Williams v Williams: We represented the wife in a case involving €58 million in assets, securing a €14.25 million award despite extreme non-compliance from the husband. 

• Y v A Healthcare NHS Trust & Ors: We represented the wife in a landmark Court of Protection case, securing a unique ruling to extract and store sperm from her dying husband for posthumous fertility treatment.

We are the only HNW family law firm with an in-house financial forensics team, who are experts in tracing and valuing assets. Although they are based in our London office, they work seamlessly with our Italian team to provide the same high-calibre expertise to our clients. Having all previously worked in Big Four accountancy firms, the team’s experience now ranges from valuing cryptocurrency mining companies and complex family business structures, to protecting the value accrued in a client’s company post-separation and ensuring efficient tax structuring post-settlement. 

Our team also brings extensive experience in handling complex international family law matters. We regularly advise on cases involving parental child abduction (Hague and non-Hague), wardship and relocation applications, and the enforcement of foreign orders. We are adept at securing protection and injunctions, navigating cross-border family cases across multiple jurisdictions, and drafting robust pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. Our expertise also spans international divorce proceedings, financial provision and settlements, and intricate children matters.
