Last Wednesday, Vardags Director Chris Hall had the pleasure of attending a day of clay pigeon shooting at Fawley Court Estate in Buckinghamshire.
Chris wasted no time settling in to the sublime 17th setting of the Grade I listed property, and it’s perhaps unsurprising that he felt right at home—the estate was designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the architect most famed for dreaming up St Paul’s Cathedral, which provides a suitably dramatic backdrop to our London office.
Expert instructors taught Chris how to handle two classic rifles crafted by legendary gunmakers James Purdey and Sons. He practiced his aim on a number of clay targets within the 100+ acres of Capability Brown Parkland, before trying his hand at commanding the gun hounds.
In addition to the shooting, Chris was treated to an exhilarating spin in the latest Rolls Royce Dawn across the surrounding Henley countryside. Following such an adrenaline rush, guests rounded off the event with a delicious, locally-sourced lunch washed down with a glass of Louis X111 cognac.
On behalf of Chris, we would like to extend our thanks to the wonderful hosts and fellow guests at Fawley Court!
