Lucy Williams, Senior Associate
Lucy joined Vardags’ Manchester office as a solicitor. She quickly rose through the ranks and is now a Senior Associate. She advises on all issues arising from the breakdown of marriage for high net worth individuals including private children matters.
Lucy studied law at the University of York, then returned home to Manchester to study the LPC at BPP Law School. Lucy studied the LPC part time whilst working full time as a paralegal.
- At the end of her undergraduate degree, Lucy was awarded the ‘Citizenship’ Award by University of York Law school as recognition for contributions made in organising careers/social events and increasing exposure to different and more niche firms.
- In her third year of University, Lucy was selected to present a paper based on her dissertation at Kent Critical Law Society conference alongside academics and legal professionals. Lucy sat on the ‘Equality and the Home’ panel and presented a paper on development of the law for married couples, divorcing and separating couples through social movements.
- Lucy continues to support University of York law school as an alumni as an admissions interviewer for prospective future students. Lucy also provides guidance to aspiring family lawyers as a mentor for the University of Law.
Lucy worked as a paralegal for 2 years at a national law firm whilst studying the LPC. On completion of her LPC, Lucy commenced her training contract in Chester, during her training contract Lucy worked in one of the largest family law teams in the UK. Lucy qualified and began to practice in Chester until deciding to move back to her home town of Manchester where she joined Vardags.
Lucy is experienced in advising on all matters arising out of divorce and separation, Lucy has acted for a number of high net worth individuals and is experienced in the complex issues that come with this, including jurisdiction issues. In addition, Lucy has extensive experience in private children matters and has dealt with a number cases involving serious allegations of harm, including cases with allegations of parental alienation. Lucy is also experienced in children matters involving removal of children from the jurisdiction.

In her spare time, Lucy enjoys spending time with friends and family, in particular being an Auntie to her three nieces. Lucy enjoys visiting new cities and seeing new places, both in and out of the UK, and has a long list of places still to work through!
