Eva is a respected member of our Reputation and Privacy team and can offer specialist support due to her detailed understanding of the issues that our clients face in these complicated and often sensitive areas. She is well placed to assist clients requiring a multi-disciplinary approach having also gained experience in our Divorce and Family departments.
Eva joined Vardags Graduate Training Scheme in 2019 where she developed her skills and knowledge across the various departments in the firm. Eva initially worked in the Divorce and Family department, assisting across a range of complex cases including those relating to:
- Matrimonial finances
- Domestic abuse cases
- Complex children cases, including those where allegations of harm were raised
Eva qualified into the Reputation and Privacy Department and works very closely with Alex McCready as Head of that team. Eva specialises in assisting clients during times of crisis and can help navigate the complex problems involving:
- The press
- The increasingly hostile world of social media
Eva frequently works with high-profile clients and understands the complexities that these individuals are facing. She also has experience on matters that involve prominent media outlets, for example the BBC. Eva’s approach to cases follows the firms renowned multi-disciplinary approach and she can enlist the expertise of other departments within the firm to assist clients in matters involving family, civil or criminal proceedings. Eva also works closely with other specialist agencies, including PR and cyber security specialists, to ensure the best outcome for her clients in every case.
Eva’s cases are often incredibly time critical, and she is skilled at ensuring that clients are advised on which route to follow to ensure the optimal results. She is experienced at assisting clients that are based in the UK as well as those with international links.
Eva studied Law at Durham University. During her second year of her undergraduate degree, Eva interned at a boutique London law firm specialising in Employment and Intellectual Property Law.
After her undergraduate degree, Eva undertook an MSc in Marketing at the University of Edinburgh, during which she worked directly with brands to develop their marketing strategies (including digital marketing).
Eva completed her LPC, gaining a distinction, alongside her training.
Eva frequently demonstrates the importance of knowledge sharing with her peers and colleagues. One example is her piece on Private Equity and Negative Media Campaigns where she offers her advice on what individuals and industries should do in these situations.
Eva is a keen runner, as well as a bookworm and lover of fine wine. She enjoys exploring the London restaurant scene, as well as spending time with friends and family in Edinburgh.
