Emily joined Vardags in 2018 as a Client Relations Associate. In September 2019, she embarked on the Vardags Graduate Training Programme and since then, Emily has focused her practice on all aspects of divorce and financial proceedings.
During her training, Emily has gained particular experience in high-value cases involving complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, applications for maintenance pending suit and legal services payment orders, Part 25 (expert evidence) and other interim applications. Emily was an integral part of the team on MG v GM (MPS LSPO) [2022] EWFC 8, where Vardags secured MPS and LSPO orders for the applicant in circumstances where jurisdiction was disputed and no financial disclosure had been exchanged, the financial proceedings having been stayed pending conclusion of the jurisdiction proceedings.
Emily is currently undertaking a training seat with Vardags’ specialist Children department, gaining experience in private children law.

Emily also participates in internal knowledge-sharing presentations at Vardags, and has presented recently on topics including vulnerability and participation directions, and reporting and privacy in the family courts
Emily read French at The Queen’s College, Oxford where she achieved an academic prize in her final year and graduated in 2018 with First Class Honours. Her studies focused in particular on Medieval literature and 17th Century theatre.
Since joining Vardags, Emily has completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University part-time alongside her work, attaining a Distinction, and is currently studying part-time for the Legal Practice Course.
Emily is proficient in French, having spent 10 months during her year abroad working as a language assistant in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in France, as part of her degree
Thanks to the various lockdowns of 2020 and beyond, Emily is a keen runner and cyclist. She has completed several half marathons and can often be found cycling laps around Regent’s Park, or at a variety of exercise classes with friends and colleagues.
Emily is also a dedicated musician, and holds advanced Diplomas in flute performance from Trinity College London and from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. As a flautist and pianist, she has performed widely in renowned venues across London, Oxford and New York over the years, and was previously a member of the Oxford University Orchestra. Emily currently performs in London regularly with Fulham Symphony Orchestra.
