Caroline is Head of Children, advising on all aspects of children law. Caroline is sensitive but tenacious, with a refined and no-nonsense approach inside and outside court. She continues to expand her niche multi-jurisdictional practice which is greatly enhanced by her trilingual capacity (English, French and Spanish).
Caroline carries out complex children cases, both domestic and international, with particular experience in cross-border disputes. She is approachable, straight-talking, empathetic and unpretentious. She conducts a wide variety of cases ranging from international family disputes, child arrangements, and relocation matters. Caroline’s expertise also covers parental child abduction (Hague and non-Hague), proceedings under the inherent jurisdiction, wardship applications under the 1996 and 1980 Hague Conventions, enforcement and recognition of foreign orders, as well as injunctions and protection orders.

Caroline studied Civil Law at l’Université de Montréal, Québec, Canada. She obtained a First Class Honours degree in Law from the University of Westminster, London, England, and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law (now known as The University of Law), London, England.
Caroline trained and worked at a leading specialist Tier 1 Family firm in London from 2010 to 2021. She qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and into the firm’s award-winning international children department headed by the late Anne-Marie Hutchinson OBE, QC (Hon). Caroline specialised in proceedings relating to the international movement of children, wardship, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, stranded spouses, together with private children and public law. Her commitment was exemplified in her representing parents, children, victims of domestic and honour based violence, and vulnerable adults. She also advised in divorce and applications for financial remedy. Caroline has acted for high net worth individuals and the publicly funded alike, and conducted advocacy in cases before the Family Court and the High Court.
Of note, Caroline acted for a mother in child abduction proceedings following Russia’s ratification of the 1996 Hague Convention on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Cooperation in respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children, in an application made in the Russian court for the children’s return – the first case to make use of the 1996 Hague Convention for child abduction in England as well as in Russia.
Caroline undertook a secondment in 2018 at The Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), through its Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) in Hong Kong SAR, China. She took part in the organising of the HCCH’s 125th anniversary global event in Hong Kong.
Caroline was a Rapporteur for the 2nd International Family Law & Practice Conference “Parentage, Equality & Gender” (2013) and also a Rapporteur for the triennial International Family Law & Practice Conference “Culture, Dispute Resolution and the Modernised Family” (2016).
Caroline is a Commissioner of Oaths for Québec, Canada (Commissaire à l’assermentation) since 2010.
Caroline is fluent in French and Spanish.
