Allysha is an Assistant Solicitor at Vardags.
Allysha is the recipient of the Royal Dutch Shell Merit Award for a full scholarship to pursue her undergraduate studies in the UK.
Allysha read law at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge and recently completed the LPC with commendation.
Allysha is passionate about humanitarian law and more specifically, the regional refugee crisis in Southeast Asia. She secured a summer internship in the UNHCR Kuala Lumpur where she was assigned to the Registration unit tasked with the preliminary interview of hundreds of asylum seekers, predominantly from the Rohingya community. Allysha also worked with the Statelessness unit and was on the organising committee of a national conference gathering delegates of different stakeholders including ministers, NGOs, and lawyers to participate in a roundtable policy proposal for the undocumented population in Malaysia.
Allysha is Malaysian of mixed Chinese-Indian heritage and is fluent in Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, and conversational Hokkien - a dialect spoken on the northwest island of Penang, where she was born.
Having previously lived in the small town of Klang, Allysha is still spending most of her free time exploring the joys of London, from the best dance floors to the quaintest of pubs - but often still finds herself happiest tucking into a bowl of laksa at a Malaysian restaurant.
