Free Wills Month: get your complementary will from Vardags

Vardags is thrilled to be participating in Free Wills Month: a nationwide initiative that incentivises older people to kick start their estate planning.

We know first-hand the importance of a professionally drafted will to ensuring that your wishes are honoured after you pass away.That’s why, for the entirety of March, we are giving those aged 55 and over (or, in the case of couples seeking mirror wills, those with a partner aged 55+) the chance to have a new simple will drawn up—completely free of charge, courtesy of the scheme’s participating charities.

If you already have a will, you can still benefit by having it amended for free. And even if your estate plans require a more complex will, you will still receive a contribution towards the costs, which you can discuss with our wills team during your initial meeting.

What is Free Wills Month?

Free Wills Month is an ongoing campaign made possible by a group of charities, including the British Heart Foundation, Mind, Marie Curie, and the NSPCC, who depend on legacies for up to a quarter their income. Yet out of the 35% of people who say that they would leave a charitable legacy in their will, only 7% follow through.

There’s no obligation to leave a bequest to any of these charities if you choose to take advantage of Free Wills Month. However 65% of participants opt to do so—meaning that you have the opportunity to do a good deed while getting your will in order.

How can I get my free will?

If you wish to proceed, you should then contact our client relations team and ask to arrange a consultation so that you can receive a new will as part of the Free Wills Month campaign. At your consultation, we will take detailed instructions as to your desired arrangements so that we can draw up a will that accurately reflects your wishes.
