Is there sufficient evidence to justify trial? ============================================== There are a number of significant moments during the course of criminal proceedings in which decisive intervention can be made to halt proceedings on the basis that there is insufficient evidence. There is opportunity to make representations to this effect prior to any decision to charge, and at both the Magistrates' and Crown Court.
