Prior to joining Vardags, director Nicky Hunter practiced family law in the North East after qualifying in 2001. She is “a superb advocate” and “an exceptionally skilled lawyer” (Legal 500).
Highly experienced in a wide range of family law issues, Nicky specialises in cases involving complex financial issues arising on separation following marriage, civil partnerships and unmarried relationships. She is particularly experienced in cohabitation cases involving property and trusts and regularly advises on financial applications for children of unmarried parents. Nicky also advises on disputes about the living arrangements for children and she is a member of the Law Society’s children panel.
Nicky is a skilled advocate and regularly represents clients at hearings at all levels of the family court. She is also a trained collaborative lawyer and so is experienced in resolving disputes outside of the court where suitable. She can advise in relation to a range of agreements including pre-marital and cohabitation.
She is recognised as a leader in her field in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
Nicky was born and grew up in Northumberland and read Modern History at University College, Oxford before undertaking a post-graduate law conversion at Northumbria University.
