Kathryn read History at the University of Cambridge before converting to law through the senior status law degree at Queen Mary, University of London. She won a major scholarship from Middle Temple and secured a place on the Bar Professional Training Course at Kaplan law school. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2013.
Before joining Vardags Kathryn worked at the leading pensions law firm, Sacker & Partners where she developed a keen interest in pension sharing on divorce. She has extensive pro bono experience including voluntary positions at the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre, Kaplan Legal Advice, and South Westminster Legal Advice Centre. She is a qualified FRU representative.
Kathryn has retained a strong relationship with her comprehensive school. Having been the only student in the local borough to secure a place at an Oxbridge University in 2007, she regularly returns to give talks on pursuing higher education and aiming for careers in law. She sits on the focus group of the Robert Clack Development Trust, an alumni support group which is dedicated to “giving something back” to the school. Through this, she mentors students and has organised ‘Law in Action’ days.
Outside of work, Kathryn is a keen writer and enjoys long walks in the Essex countryside with her dog, Pixie. She likes setting herself fitness challenges and ran the London marathon in 2013, raising large sums for the Middle Temple Scholarship Fund and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. She enjoys swimming, fashion and spending time with family and friends.
