Mere months after the triumphant launch of our new Manchester office, Vardags is venturing further Northwards, with a brand new base in the heart of Newcastle city centre.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be opening a new office in such a vibrant, thriving city as Newcastle”, our President Ayesha Vardag told the ChronicleLive.
“It’s a city with huge potential for growth, and a prime target for the infrastructure investment and regeneration heralded by the Prime Minister’s inaugural speech. We want to be part of maximising the potential in this beautiful and powerful part of the country.”
It’s also a city close to Ayesha’s heart, having spent her childhood holidays in Northumberland with her “Alnwick and Alnmouth born-and-bred mother”.
The office itself is also brimming with history. Located on the historic Grey Street, famed for its stunning Georgian architecture, Earl Grey House is a grade II listed building dating from 1837. Eminent architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner described Grey Street as ” one of the finest streets in England”, whilst writer Sir John Betjeman waxed poetic over the elegant simplicity of its design:
“As for the curve of Grey Street, I shall never forget seeing it to perfection, traffic-less on a misty Sunday morning. Not even Regent Street, even old Regent Street London, can compare with that descending subtle curve.”
Earl Grey House will be home to Vardags’ fifth office in the UK, meaning that Newcastle will join London, Winchester, Cambridge and Manchester in finding our world-class expertise on its proverbial doorstep.
