Congratulations to our newly qualified solicitors

Congratulations to our newly qualified solicitors

Last Friday, the Vardags team rounded off another busy working week with a very special celebration. After 2-3 years of challenging case work, rigorous academic study and a delightfully dynamic working environment, we welcome the third batch of solicitors to successfully complete our Graduate Training Progamme. Now fully qualified, they begin the next chapter of their careers at Vardags.

We marked the occasion in signature Vardags style: with an evening drinks reception at our office overlooking St. Pauls Cathedral complete, of course, with a delicious novelty cake. There, we asked our new solicitors to share their experiences of the Graduate Training Programme:

As a paralegal and, later, a trainee, I felt that my training at Vardags was of a higher calibre than I might have received anywhere else. Not only did I watch some of the most exciting cases in family law happen in our offices, but I was actually able to work on them. Throughout my training there was always someone to answer my questions and offer guidance, while I was able, increasingly, to take ownership of my own work. For those of us at the junior end of the firm, growing up together has allowed us to form strong and supportive friendships. -Antonia Barker
I loved the graduate scheme at Vardags. It was an excellent, unique way to combine the practical application of the law with academic study. I would recommend it to anyone. It is also extremely sociable as you are training and studying alongside your colleagues. You form strong bonds which will serve you well throughout your legal career. -Natasha Grande

Catherine Doherty who, along with Lucy Brown, will be admitted to the role in April also shared her thoughts:

I started at Vardags as a paralegal in January 2013, and was thrown into case work from day 1. My training has followed seamlessly from then on, and I have had the opportunity throughout my time as both a paralegal and a trainee to play a meaningful role working on some of the biggest family law cases currently before the court.

Its been a delight to see Antonia, Natasha, Lucy and Catherine conquer all the challenges that this demanding and exhilarating programme has thrown their way, and itll be a privilege to continue to watch them thrive, now as fully qualified solicitors.
